Description
A Grease interceptor is a basic form of equipment for separating grease and oils from water. It also known as a grease trap, is a plumbing device designed to capture and separate grease and other debris from wastewater. It is shaped like a box and includes a Baffle plate, Solids compartment and Separation area.
Grease traps and grease interceptors are essentially the same, but they differ slightly in terms of size and design. Both devices serve to capturing fats, oils, and grease from wastewater. However, grease traps are typically smaller units installed indoors and are suitable for lower flow rates, such as those found in small commercial kitchens.
Grease interceptors, on the other hand, are larger and often installed outside underground, designed for higher flow rates seen in larger commercial establishments.
